As you’ve probably noticed, I have a new blog header. Look at me! And for good reason. Things on the documentary front are moving along and I’m trying to make all my sites look nice and pretty. Much more is coming soon.
Ok, I’m somewhat new to the blogosphere (I don’t even know if that’s a word) but I’ve been getting lots of WTF and lots of less than subtle questions regarding my Flickr photos and YouTube videos. I guess not everyone is my Mom and knows what the hell I’ve done.
For those of you who don’t like to scroll, here is a brief recap: Last November, I traveled to Oberpfaffelbachen, Bavaria to film a documentary about a small village and their Rampenfest. What is Rampenfest? Well, it’s just like Octoberfest except there is a giant ramp involved. As to why it was built, that’s why I went over there so I’m not going to tell you until I finish the documentary.
But there is good news – the documentary should be finished in about a week. I hope. I pray. Stay tuned.
I’ve assembled a rough cut and certain sections scream for music. So, if you are in a band, date the lead singer (or drummer) of a band, or still wear tight leather pants, consider this an open call for all to send me music to be featured in my documentary. It’s like American Idol but with good music and I promise not to judge you if it sucks. What do you get in return? You get to help a man fulfill his life long dream to make a documentary about a small Bavarian village and their giant ramp. And if it blows up, I’ll let you play at my Oscar party.
Send links/messages via Facebook. Or just post your link as a comment here. I guess that’s what it’s there for.
I just drank 12 Red Bull’s and lived to tell about it. Hooray for me!
What is this you ask?Its a clip from the documentary, I answer.Thank you, when will you have more to share, you ask?Stop asking so many questions, I answer. Editing is a beautiful but painfully long process and I need more time to finish. And my eyes hurt. Hopefully I will post another short clip in a few days. In the meantime, enjoy.
I’d like to interrupt this regularly scheduled blog program and give a shout out – To my sister Kara. She asked, I delivered, so please stop bugging me. 😉
Love, Your brother
Editing in Final Cut Pro is going well. After 1,000 hours of using the program, I finally feel like I am starting to get the hang of it. Anyways, I’ve posted a few clips on YouTube, and now that figured out how to embed a video in a WordPress post (booyah), I’ll share one with you here. Moo.
I know, I know, I haven’t been posting often enough, I promise I’ll do better.
Been busy pouring through all the footage I shot and started the editing process. Lots of great stuff. This documentary might not suck after all. More to post shortly. In the meantime, enjoy this picture.
Lots of news to report.
You’ll notice I’ve decked out my blog with some new fancy features. This is more of an opportunity to pat myself on the back for figuring out how to add Facebook and Flickr widgets but since it took me three days, please peruse.
And that is a nice segue to Flickr. I’ve posted some Oberpfaffelbachen pics on my Flickr site. The town is amazing and as I mentioned before, full of cows. Thanks Claude for your comments.
